May LiM LAc Acupuncturist and Herbalist

May was raised in a traditional Chinese family in Malaysia. Growing up she had very few visits to Western medical clinics but had plenty of visits to Chinese herbalists. She came to America to attend college and later worked as a software engineer at several university hospitals. Her childhood experience in Southeast Asia as well as her education and work experience here in the states instilled in her an appreciation for both modern Western and traditional Eastern medicines. Her long-held interest in plants and herbal medicine eventually led her to pursue a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, followed by a five-week externship at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in China. She prefers simple, gentle and non-invasive Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments including acupuncture, moxibustion, tui-na massage, gua-sha, and herbal formulas to help restore and maintain physical and mental balance.
